Platform Parallel Website

On 20 June 2013 a day around GPGPU and compiler-techniques will be held in the Amsterdam (NL) around GPGPU, OpenCL, CUDA, parallel programming, compilers, and more.

Why You Should Attend?

  • Meet others in the parallel programming industry and research.
  • Learn about researches that is done with GPUs today.
  • Find out if you can use GPUs for your own challenges.

At http://www.platformparallel.nl/ you find abstracts, tickets and general information.

When science meets GPGPU

The Netherlands is a hub for advanced science and engineering. With projects like LOFAR, hi-tech companies like Philips, TomTom, NXP, ASML, Plantlab, and well-known universities of technology in Eindhoven, Enschede and Delft, you get a very little tast of the technological advancement of this small country with slightly more inhabitants than New York. Hence a great place to hold a GPGPU-day.

Several speakers from many universities in the Netherlands and from the industry will explain what they are using GPUs and alike techniques to solve real-life problems. The first goal of the day is to meet the others in the field and make new contacts.

Organisers

StreamComputing is the initiator of the event to increase awareness of advanced  GPGPU research done within the Netherlands. StreamComputing is a well-known consultancy and training company around GPU-programming.

SURFsara is the facilitator and the main sponsor. SARA is probably most known for their HPC-clusters in Amsterdam. They facilitate researchers in the Netherlands with high-end computing services and work closely together with the academic community and industry.

Target audiences

  • Researchers: meet the others in the field and share knowledge.
  • Interested developers: learn, listen and meet.
  • Interested managers: see what other companies have done to speed up computations.
  • Professionals: network with interesting people.
  • Students: find all there is needed for your (future) thesis on parallel programming.

As the day has both academic and commercial purposes, talks and presentations are very clearly identifiable as such. All talks and interviews will be recorded on video and shared via Youtube.
