At StreamComputing, there is broad experience in the parallel, high-performance implementation of image filters. We have significantly improved the performance of various image processing software. For example, we have supported Pixelmator in achieving outstanding processing speeds on large image data, and users frequently praise the software’s speed in comparisons with competing software products.
StreamComputing is currently hosting an educational initiative that supports interested individuals in their efforts of porting algorithms from the open-source GEGL image processing framework to fast parallel versions based on OpenCL. GEGL is used by the popular image manipulation software Gimp as well as other free software. For more information on this project, look at our website OpenCL.org, which we dedicate to spreading knowledge on OpenCL.
